Bergdorf Goodman’s Windows

Posted by trainingheels in Christian Louboutin Shoes, General

Bergdorf Goodman consistently has some of my favorite store windows in the world. I love Saks’ holiday displays complete with holiday music that chimes to the rhythm of a snowflake light display, but for year round glamor, few things beat Bergdorf.

Right now at Bergdorf, there’s a tribute to Lincoln Center’s 50th anniversary. Some gorgeous Louboutins could be seen in the windows below. Unfortunately, the shoes were not labeled for the most part.

Do we sense a return to ballet slippers, but with a jewel-encrusted toe and some tasteful lacing? Could be fun.

The only other windows I’ve maybe liked this much are Saks’ golden age film star windows and Barneys’ Andy Warhol windows.

Louboutin Wedding Shoes

Posted by Shomore in Christian Louboutin Shoes

This Christian Louboutin d’Orsay is called the Carnaval Nodo (it’s $795 at Saks) but with it’s baby blue insole, white satin material,  and royal blue contrast trim on the bow, I think it’s more fitting to call it the Louboutin wedding shoe.

And for those that crave a little pop in their wedding shoes like our fuschia bride from last year, Gilt has these gorgeous Louboutin fuschia satin pumps for $268 (retails for $598).  If you require a Gilt sign up invitation, follow this link.

FootCandy and Louboutin Help Elephants

Posted by Shomore in Christian Louboutin Shoes

Normally, I don’t associate shoes with elephants but in this unique situation, they are actually quite relevant to each other.

To benefit the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant foundation (GTAEF), an organization that rescues elephants off the streets of Thailand by giving them a home in the jungles of the Golden Triangle, FootCandy and Christian Louboutin have teamed up to offer you these exclusive Louboutin Rodita shoes.  Louboutin’s Rodida Rescue shoes are available for $895 and only 50 pairs in the bubble gum pink have been made.  The best part?  All sales proceeds go to giving abused elephants a comfortable haven. If you’ve ever needed an excuse to purchase a pair of beautiful but pricey Loubies,  take a look at these pictures and tell me you aren’t tempted to max out your credit card?

Martha Stewart paints the soles of her Louboutins black

Posted by Shomore in Christian Louboutin Shoes

For some women, flashing those famous red soled shoes by Christian Louboutin is part of the reason for buying the shoes. There are even cobblers who specialize in protecting those red soles.

The Martha Stewart thinks quite differently. In the latest post on M. Stewart’s blog, she writes:

Karena, my wardrobe mistress, painting the soles of my Louboutins black - I am not a fan of the signature red soles and always change the red to black - this is easy if you use a broad sharpie.

I have divided feelings on this practice. On one hand, I admire and commend Martha for wearing shoes because she likes the style or quality, not simply because they are THE shoe brand to wear. On the other hand, I view many of Louboutin’s shoes as works of art. And one does not go around intentionally messing up someone’s art work before even wearing them, right? Besides, wouldn’t Karena’s time be better spent say, mentoring children or volunteering somewhere? Weigh in. What do you think?
