If you, like me, are in the market for a metallic flat (preferably gold) this spring, you have, undoubtedly, been dazzled by the wide variety of choices. To make life even more difficult, the designers took the cutout trend, threw it into the metallic craze, added a splash of ballet-flat madness, and ran with it. The results are all over the price range spectrum. Here’s what my eagle eye spotted this morning (shiny, shiny things! I’m so easily distracted!):

These Chinese Laundry ‘Possess’ flat for only $33. Probably a good way of trying on the trend before deciding that you like it:

If that looks too flimsy, go a step up with the BP ‘Lady Luck’ flat for $60:

Or perhaps with this Naturalizer Urbana, for $69:

I’m also giving some thought to these BCBG ‘Laurina’ flats for $89:

And these Michael Kors Gogo ballet shoe for $109 also caught my eye:

These kitten-heel Joan&David Kaily for $235 are rather original:

These Stuart Weitzman mettalic-woven flats for $265 are, however, sort of demure:

Once you get into designer territory, make sure you’ve got deep pockets. These Ferragamo flats, available in gold, black, and silver, are $370:

And these Dolce and Gabbana flats are $495:

And these beautiful Carmen Ho flats, priced at $560, might actually break the bank:

So, if shiny-and-slashy is your thing, the market has got lots of choices for you this spring. Oh, gosh, did I just rhyme? No I didn’t!!!

Happy shoe-hunting, you shoe-lovers!
