This week in shoes
Posted on April 13th, 2008 by shoesense under This week in shoesConverse shoes celebrates its 100th anniversary. Tip of the hat to you, Converse!
There’s a new shoe line that in my mind doesn’t even have a prayer to make it to the 100th anniversary: Paris Hilton launches line of (gaudy) shoes. Visit the link and scroll down for some icky Paris bunion shots (what an unholy word pairing, right there).
Shoes have been used to promote all sorts of causes–Earth day, anti-violence against women (the famous “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” events), helping the homeless, even stimulate an improvement in students’ grades. This time students use them for an anti-smoking campaign. Is there anything shoes can’t do?
Ladies, add another weapon to your relationship arsenal: learn how to judge a man by his shoes. (Take the advice with a boulder of salt, however!)
Have fun in your shoes, everybody!

Paris Hilton is into everything nowadays, but I don’t think her shoes will last. But, good for her to try.
Looking at the guy’s shoes is important. I once had a blind date with a guy who was wearing the most beat up shoes ever. It shows he does not pay attention to details.

I tried to watch the video and couldn’t get through it… Is there an alternative pronunciation for “archetype” that sounds like “arch-type”? The only pronunciation I know for the word is “ark-ah-type,” and the slightly ditzy girl didn’t exactly sound authoritative with her pronunciation…
