This Week in Shoes

-The credit, financial, and mortgage crisis has me seriously worried about the impact to lives and families.  In these challenging economic times, it is tough to think about shoes, however beautiful and distracting they may be.  However, Stuart Weitzman reminded me why shoes are still relevant. Charitable donations are already hurting this year,  so if you are going to buy an extra pair of shoes, wouldn’t it be nice for it to be in support of The Stuart Weitzman Annual Celebrity Shoe Auction. Funds raised in this auction will go to support Ovarian Cancer.

Some of the celebrities who are contributing to this auction include Rachel Bilson and her feathery pump and this sweet shoe by Blake Lively.  More shoes by your favorite celebrities can be seen on the online website.

-Buying new shoes can be expensive, especially for the shrinking pocketbook.  Re-soling old shoes can be a cheaper option.  On the newly launched Save Your Sole blog (let’s hope for more tips), Matt the Cobbler offers his recommendation on men’s dress shoe brands to resole with.

-Manolo the ShoeBlogger recommends shoes for the poor girl.

I agree financial crises around the world have been affecting lives, especially recent increase and fluctuations in the oil prices has caused a global economic crises. Buying power of general public is greatly influenced in recent times.

Re-soling old shoes can be a cheaper option when it comes to buy shoes. I fear that shoes associated with celebrities or branded shoes are hard to be cheaper any way.
