Fall hazard? I sometimes suspect that heels that are more than 3 inches tall are accidents waiting to happen.

“About 3,200 pairs of Charles David …were recalled … The recall was issued because the heels on the shoes can detach, posing a fall hazard, the commission said…Charles David, based in Culver City, has received one report of a heel detaching, resulting in minor bruising, the agency said.”
Okay, so one report of a heel detatching….this is why there are 15 warning signs on my stepladder! Was this an exception…and I wonder just how roughly this pair was treated to ‘detatch’ - given the number of lower-brand shoes I have owned over 40 years, worn to pieces & never had a single snap.
This also makes me wonder about the power of the product liability lawyers.

I’ve never had a heel snap. Just wanted to know. Where was the product made U.S. or China?

Rai - the article states they were made in “China, Spain & Italy”.
But, any more mass-produced item can have some duds.

@Rai look at how thin the heel is. I’m surprised there aren’t more snaps. And like Meream said, they are pretty tall. I guess one pays a lot for fashion.
