Tod’s Suede Zeppa Wedge Pumps

Although pretty tame, I was so drawn to Tod’s Suede Zeppa Wedge Pumps ($475 at Saks). You have to go back for a second look and let it linger to get the full effect of what these shoes really say. These shoes are like a pair of ballet flats had a little love affair with a pair of wedges and this is the result. The shoes may not be incredibly out there and ostentatious, but there is something to be said about their clean lines and the sleek silhouette.
The pointed toe gives them a little edge as well, as does the stark contrast of the suede with the black trim. Tod’s and Saks both market this color as purple, but it almost looks like mauve to me, and thus speaks to me on the same level as those adorable red berry Burberry pumps I recently gushed over.
The heel is resin, and measures about 2 and ¼ inches, or 60 millimeters. So, while not skyscraper high, you get a little extra height, and plenty of support to go with it, thanks to the wedge.
I can see where some might find these boring though. What do you think? Are you just tired of seeing wedges, or does the very simplicity of this pair work for you?
