The most stylist and comfortable shoes I have

Super comfortable with a Euro vibe! I love Trippen, and Ped Shoes (http://www.pedshoes.com) carries a nice selection. The ones I bought last year stayed on my feet almost all winter.

Ahh yes, these shoes are soooooo cool! I discovered these visiting Berlin 5 years ago. They are so well made and comfortable. I love the cork insoles, the beautiful leather. My husband just got his first pair (walked all over Belgium with ‘em, loves them!) from Traipse, a little shoe store in Chicago on North Lincoln avenue, what an awesome little store off the beaten path. They had a great selection of Trippen’s, best I’ve seen. They only have a web page, but if you call they are very helpful over the phone and you can look at most styles on the Trippen website.

What about the care instructions that come with Trippens? Don’t wear them in the kitchen or get them wet or walk on uneven terrain with them and don’t wear them every day, etc. They are comfortable enough to wear all the time, but they come with so many warnings & prohibitions, it seems like the makers prefer that we wear them lightly and mostly indoors. Did you guys read it? Do you mostly ignore it? What’s your experience? The care guidelines are also on their web site.

That brochure cracks me up!!! I have totally ignored it, and my shoes don’t seem to have suffered a bit. Not to generalize (well, okay, get ready ’cause I’m going to), but keep in mind Trippen is a German company. In my experience, Germans tend to be cautious and attentive to every little detail–great in crafting the shoes, but a little over-the-top with the guidance about how to wear and care for them. Trippens are simply shoes–really well-made shoes. Just toss the leaflet and enjoy.

Bought my Trippen classics ‘Golf’ in 2000 at the Sogo Pacific Department Store in Taipei, Taiwan on a business trip from Holland. Well, can’t get them off my feet since, for 60% of the time (have to sleep as well…). Extremely comfortable, still in great shape. They don’t seem to age or better, they do not want to age how even bad I treat them. Just great!

Trippen shoes are my favorite. They are the coolest looking shoes I have had. Here in the states people are not as interesting or interested in making style statements its all about jeans and sneakers, men women and children. Sad. But at least I have my Trippens to keep me happy.

I am looking for stores in New York City that sell Trippen shoes. Look forward to hearing from you, Carol A. Lefemine
