Valentino Studded Point-Toe Pumps

Oh, Valentino. No other brand in the world knows the punk lined, rock and roll path to my heart quite so well. I am seriously salivating a little bit over these Valentino Studded Point-Toe Pumps ($895 at Saks), for so many reason. There are so many little elements that I am just head over heels in love with, and they come together so beautifully.

Most of all – and I bet most of you already know exactly what I am going to say – I love those studs. Squeal! Those are so hot! Valentino is serious about them too, this ain’t no tiny little smattering of studs, like the label is going for Hardcore Lite or something. Oh no. These are for real, for real.

I am totally digging the multiple straps as well, and the way they wrap – and the way they are covered with studs all the way around as well, thank you very much. Here, you have to have a look at the back as well, that just makes it all better:

Right? I love the way the back is open. Not great for January, but I am sometimes willing to risk frostbite for fabulousness. That’s just the way I roll.

The leather is of the sumptuous Italian variety, the shoes have a perfectly pointed toe – like, super pointed, look:

And the heel, which is self covered, measures out at about 2 and ¾ inches, or 70 millimeters.

So how do you like the hardware? Is it worth setting off the alarm at the airport for a pair of pumps like this?

Is it wrong that when I saw these at the saks website the first thing I thought was, 'dominatrix granny'? It's not logical, I know, but once that image took hold, I was doomed to have that association on these shoes.
