Versace’s Vibrant Color-Blocked Ankle Boots

It definitely  feels like winter around here.  Sure, it’s still officially fall according to my wall calendar. But, when I wake up to snow flurries, I know that winter has firmly taken over and fall has sadly become a mere technicality.

And, while I love a pair of classic black, brown, or gray knee-high boots in the fall (Heck, I wore last years boots up until mid-May), the seemingly endless variations of neutral-toned footwear available each fall and winter  can quickly come to feel as monotonous and grim as the  attendant dark clouds and gloomy weather on view just outside my window.

Luckily, Versace has a cure for the neutral-boot doldrums.

Boring? Dull? Staid? Not these jewel-toned boots. They are a standout statement shoe for the gal who needs a break from the usual offerings.

Versace leather platform ankle boots, $875 at Net-a-porter.

Well, they are quite unique and beautiful in a way. Certainly not for everybody or for everyday, but I kind of like them :)

Ohhh…these are quite a disaster. I mean, they are definitely a stand-out piece, and are for sure not boring. But this is too much. The colours, the laces, the shape…it's all very Versace, but that's not necessarily a good thing…
