What Happened to Bakers?

I don’t remember Bakers always being this crazy. Did they always have such colorful, flashy shoes? When I walked by their downtown Brooklyn store, I did a double take to see this boot.
The Two Lips Dakota Boot is $169.99.
I just don’t understand who could or would possibly wear this boot. It is interesting, but the different colors of the straps are so distracting that the outfit would have ot be completely simple. This is an over-the-knee boot, so it’s even flashier than a normal boot. The straps are even messy-looking in the display, failing to look consistent.
Two alternating colors might work, but this is a fashionatastrophe violation. Someone put the shoe taste police on notice!

Well, the 80′s were about mixing black with other colors (black/turquoise, black/red, black/fuschia, black/yellow) & the 80′s have been seeing a fashion resurgence. So, while this is excessive, it’s probably not suprising. Rainbow hued combos have been gaining popularity since last spring.
