Who makes Alice’s Shoes?

I noticed an increase in the number of button-up and lace-up granny-styled boots for sale at retailers this past fall and winter. The release of period (albeit not necessarily historically accurate) movies such as Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and the Jude Law/Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes -- combined with the recent tendency of Steampunk meeting the mainstream -- seems likely to result in at least one more season of increased granny-boot availability and popularity.
And I’m more than okay with that. I’ve always loved granny boots. I find the overall style to have a powerful feminine appeal. And it doesn’t hurt that hubby appreciates a well-fitting pair of ankle-hugging granny lace-ups.
Anyway, I’ve consistently been of the opinion that a well-rounded shoe collection should contain at least one pair of lace-up or button-bedecked granny boots. Round or pointed toe is a personal preference, but black or brown is a must for a first pair. Of course, budgets permitting, it’s even better to have two or three: a black leather or suede version, a brown leather that will age and distress with time, and a more frivolous ‘statement pair’ that can steal the show if the occasion calls for it.
Today, I am sharing my quest for a granny boot that leans toward the ‘statement pair’ category.
These:
Detail:
This pair of black and white attached?-spat granny boots appears near the beginning of the Disney/Burton Alice in Wonderland and is briefly visible as Alice runs and then falls down the rabbit hole.
So, here I am attempting to identify these from trailers and press photos; a proposition that is frustrating at best.
So far, the closest I have found to this style are these adorable Fluevogs which, while not a match to the film pair, do at least have the same snappy black and white contrast:
John Fluevog ‘Bellevue Libby Smith’ $288.95 at Endless.com.
With my luck, the boots found in the film were probably produced specifically for the movie.
So, it’s back to you, our readers: Do you have any clues on whether these are available in the real world?
Any ideas or shopping leads are appreciated.
In the meantime, at least the hunt will give me some time to save up for the Fluevogs if no better alternative is found.

I have been looking for these boots too, for my 20 yr old daughter. Demonia have great steampunk, granny boots with lace-up fronts, but the only spat style have side buttons. I will check out Pendragon and Galliano-Dior as suggested. I dream of being able to find these boots so I can surprise my daughter.

I totally understand! Some of those shoes I know wouldn't hold up to an all-day event, but I have friends who've orders shoes from them, and they've been comfortable and held up quite well (just matters what you get).
I know how you feel about finding neo-Victorian shoes (or hell, just ones with buttons!). I saw a beautiful pair at London Boots about 6 years ago that were absolutely fabulous. Sadly, I can't remember who made them, which haunts me 'til this day. Good luck!

sorry I can'y get the pendragon site to load. I'm not sure if they have those exact boots but they do have what I consider granny boots. So I thought you could give it a try.

Hannah – I'll try the pendragon site in a few days & see if it is up & functional.
R5bales – That happens to me too. Anyway, I figure they are probably custom to the movie, but you never know….

Gal. Somewhere in my dim mind, I remember Galliano-Dior, or someone like that with granny boots like that. I hate it when my brain doesn't cooperate.

If you’re interested in getting button up or period shoes, the best selection I’ve seen is at clockworkcouture.com. It’s a steam punk website, but it definitely has a little something for everyone. They’re also significantly cheaper than the fluevogs.

I love a lot of the Steampunk sites.
Unfortunately, many of the shoes at the above site are Pleaser styles. And, while I have a few pairs of this brand, they tend to be very narrow, high, low-comfort styles that are not very practical for anything longer than an hour or two of wear – so they tend to fall into the category of lingerie accessories, in my experience (YMMV). Not that they don't have their place….but, lower price is not enough if the shoe isn't comfy enough to last for 6 or so practical walking/standing hours. I want an all-day spectator boot, not a dinner/taxi shoe.
The hunt goes on….

Love those Fluevogs! They remind me of a pair I saw on Modcloth.
