Dear Readers,

Have you been good this year? If so, heck even if you were a little naughty, how does a chance to win a pair of luxurious, comfy dressy shoes sound? Good, right?

Well, just in time for the holidays, we are pleased to announce a Shoeblog giveaway for pair of these Taryn Rose ‘Fierce’ Disco (Disco is the color) peep-toe shoes; retail value $445:

Taryn Rose was founded by a former orthopedic surgeon, and the brand is well-known for designing trend-conscious footwear with a focus on comfort and wear-ability. The shoes are hand-sewn in Italy, and while they are not exactly inexpensive, they are very competitively priced for a hand-made shoe ($300-$600), particularly when compared to recent large price increases seen among luxury shoe designers.  I do admit that I have a few Taryn Rose styles on my personal wish list,  but have not yet had a chance to invest in any shoe from this brand for myself. However, one of our lucky readers will be able to receive a pair of the attractive Fierce Disco pumps we are showing today.

These sparklers will easily dress up any LBD – whether you are partying on New Years Eve or are simply out for an intimate dinner-date with your beau…plus, you will still be able to walk without limping come the evening’s end.

In conjunction with this contest, Taryn Rose has graciously provided a 25% off promotional code discount for Shoeblog readers. The code is good from 12/1/09-12/31/09 and is valid on any full-price item; enter code “SHOEBLOG” at checkout to get your discount. (If you find a pair of shoes showing a rare 30% off the original price, the checkout will take the 30% discount already shown on that item instead of the lesser 25% of the promo code.)

So, what you really want to know is how can you be entered for a chance to win these festive Taryn Rose shoes, right?

That’s the easy part. Leave your comment below, telling us what outfit or occasion you would wear these with. This comment will count as your contest entry (One comment per person, please).

Contest will run 12/01/09 – 12/15/09. The winner will be chosen by random number generator and announced in a separate blog entry.  The winner will need to provide their shoe size and shipping address when they are notified by Shoeblog (size chart for Italian/US sizes is here).

I have a great pair of BCBG black satin pants that these would go GREAT with! I'd probably put a shimmery blouse on top and go out and enjoy a wonderful holiday party with my husband. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I would wear these shoes to a New Year's Eve Party. I would wear a black A-line skirt with a black and white print shirt. A beautiful coat and these shoes to top it off. These would make the outfit classy and chic. Nothing like a little sparkle to start off the New Year!

Am in a group of women sharing a diamond necklace and am the only "practical shoe person" in the group. Would love to wear only these shoes and the necklace! Short of wearing only those 2 items, I would love to showup at the next necklace exchange wearing a fabulous pair of shoes.

These shoes are closed-toed and would dress up any outfit. I would wear them any season. I would dress up jeans and a grey tee or pair them with tights, a cable knit dress, and pea coat on a cold day. I already have a few pieces of white gold and silver jewelry that would go well with these shoes. They look comfortable enough for work (making signs) and to wear shopping.

I'd wear these first on New Year's Eve with a LBD with lace sleeves, and then later whenever I have a particularly long day of orchestra/chamber music performances. Pretty and comfortable, I'd love to try a pair!

I can see wearing this to work. I'm a high school teacher and students love seeing my many different types of shoes. I think they like the fact that I put a bit more into my look instead of looking like the sterotypical teacher. These would be paired with jeans and a fashioable top, probably black.

Ironically just saw a pair of shoes that looked similar to these last night, with the steel-grey metallic sparkles that I instantly adored, though they did not have as sensible a heel and the poor girl wearing them could hardly walk. I'd love to get my hands on a pair that actually look wearable to wear out anywhere and everywhere this holiday season.

After the holiday parties, would still be rocking these at the office with grey slacks and a slouchy sweater. Perfect for going straight to all those networking happy hours that start right at 5!

In my sixth month of pregnancy, I would wear these shoes with just about everything — work clothes, play clothes, going-out clothes — everything but my PJs.

I would wear these with black skinny jeans and a loose white v-neck t-shirt tucked in just a bit in the front on the right side, and with an attached red plaid silk untied bow tie. And a black blazer for when it’s cold. I would wear this outfit if I go out with my boyfriend because he hates it when I wear uncomfortable shoes.

I am currently in college majoring in voice performance, so I am onstage on my feet a lot. Everyone knows that musicians are only allowed to wear black, so these shoes are perfect!

I would rock the Taryn Rose "Fierce" shoes with my black one-strap Faremón dress and Thierry Mugler clutch to watch the fencing prize fight, "Duel in the Desert" in Las Vegas this January. They would be perfect since I am competing in a fencing event the next morning and need my feet to be in good shape for my women's epée veteran event debut. Sadly, I can't wear the shoes while fencing in competition because of uniform regulations, but wouldn't that intimidate my opponents?

The heel is traditional with a modern flair; the look will last years and go casual or dress.

I would wear these beauties to a night out at Art Walk, or going out to watch a play. They would be my secret weapon to turn upgrade a regular, dull outfit to smart casual.

These are totally rocking, they would totally go with anything, but I'm a legging girl, so I would sport these with a long sleeve black shirt, black flowy above the knee skirt, nice purple scarf, my studded blazer and of course the leggings, I'm thinking about the Christopher Kane legging. :)

I would wear these to referee the exhibition bouts at Duel in the Desert, which is a fencing tournament held in Las Vegas at New Year's. (It is usually the strength of a Division 1 National, as the first place prizes are quite a lot of money!) These would look fantastic with my little black BCBG dress, it has just the right amount of 'swoop and cling.' Throw a Theory blazer over it to ref in, and I'm done!

In case anyone is wondering, yes, I referee nationals in 3 to 4 inch heels all the time. I typically choose glam over function, to the degree that I can get away with it… at the last Div 1, I wore those beautiful color-block Via Spigas. But these disco babies actually look comfortable!

Thanks for the great sale code!

For holiday dinners with family, I'd pair these sparkly shoes with a fabulous dark rinse jean, a simple light gray jersey top with shiny silk edging, and a sparkly black headband over a hint of a beehive. A slim black patent leather belt and some chandelier earrings would finish the look.

With these shoes, I would wear a black &/or silver mini dress or a sequin dress. Probably something I'd be able to find from Bebe or Macy*s INC brand.

For a more casual look, I'd wear a black puffy skirt & a white or silver tank top with a nice H&M scarf. Also with a light black sweater.

The shoes could be worn to several occasions, formal or informal.

I have this pair of jeans that look fabulous on me, even though they have a long inseam (they were the only pair left in my size) and therefore require heels. I could see myself putting this outfit together for a night out with my friends this holiday season. Since they're Taryn Rose, I'm sure I'd be comfortable all night long.

Taryn has an incredible personal story. Born in Ho Chi Minh City, three days before Saigon fell she and her family boarded a plane – with arterillary fire and machine guns all around- finally landing in Arkansas. She was 8 at the time.

I wish I could say she is still with Taryn Rose International but she left in March because of differences of vision on how to grow the company. I wouldn't be surprised to see her launch a new line and stay private.

I have a shoe fetish and frequently blog about them, specifically those mentioned in shoeblog.com.

One of the keys of justifying the cost of a shoe is its wear-ability and versatility. This pair of shoes is a must have for years to come.

    For example,

These shoes can really be the finishing look to an outfit of knee length black leather skirt, natural hose, gunmetal knit top with tiny crystals around the neckline. Not only will the outfit be great for the holidays, but can also be appropriate for business attire like a tweed skirt with black and/or gray in it, crisp white shirt, and dark leatherjacket.

They can also be worn with slacks and jeans with a dressy top, leather or tweed jacket, anything along those lines. Again, the shoe rules, complementing and providing the finishing touch.

It seems to me that these shoes would add a touch of sophistication to much needed comfort and posture. I have just purchased a 'pleather' pencil skirt that will go with glitzy tops or fuzzy sweaters. I think that these sparkly shoes would go with either look.

    Good luck to me!

    cheers
