Pardon me if I get long-winded.
Don't forget, I do spend a lot of time hunting down fresh, unique or shocking items in the hopes of getting good material for the occasional shoeblog article.
I do think that unique heels are fun and edgy - but these ones are primarily clubwear/stagewear & a bit young for me personally to get any real use out of - and I can't rarely justify 'display only' purchases. (Plus, the custom shoe is stripper-platform high & definitely walks the line of very pricey lingerie. Lingerie that would likely cause a broken ankle. Ouch.)
Deeply Psychological? I like to think I'm pretty straightforward, but the phrase 'You have too many thoughts' has jokingly come from my husband's lips, so who knows. Of course, we are looking at shoes, and there is a long history of eroticism being tied in with footwear, so there are probably always at least some sub-conscious issues on what we react to - in this case, I think that the gun or brass-knuckle heel are intentionally and inherently confrontational while still trying to keep the fun & sex appeal of the heel a primary focus.
And I also ran into brass-knuckled handled purses by Akedemiks overat Ross not too long ago (didn't buy it - I'm a shoulder bag gal). Maybe I spend too much time popping into Hot Topic after all. One of these day's I'll consider myself too old to skirt the goth-industrial fashion line, but I'm not there yet. Interestingly, while a hardcore romanti-goth or steampunk could outfit themselves head to toe from my closet, I never wear enough pieces together to be assumed as 'in the scene'.
Anyway, this is the made-to-order stripperlicious clubwear link:
Custom Stilettos Brass Knuckle Heels KNUCKLED
And, surprise, it's modeled with the whole Marilyn Monroe/Betty Paige look.
The Ellie shoes are part of their costume line (not surprisingly - they are a huge supplier of Halloween costume shoe in addition lingerie/sexy/fetish footwear). This is the one that I actually liked when it was over at the Hot Topic. I think it's more 1940-s Hollywood and less modern stripperlicious. Not nearly as club-centric, I can see these peeking out from under a high-waisted wide-legged hollywood cut women's trouser to add a little bit of playfulness & sass to an otherwise current fashion.
