If you are looking for funky & stable, you might want to try:
1.) Platforms. Hidden or visible, lots of shoes have 1/2 inch plaforms right now making them more comfortable than standard heels.
2.) Dancer's (Ballroom) shoes are a great alternative & are designed for long wear, try brands like Capezio.
3.) Do a 'Chunky' keyword search at Zappos, you will find dozens of more supportive styles in many heights to choose from.
4.) Do look at Fleuvog. Funky & flared heels are also super cute:
