Marc Jacobs has probably made
jelly shoes chic again--and what a blast from the past it is. Still, I can't envision wearing them anywhere else but on the beach or at the pool--such an unimaginative fuddy-duddy I am. But seriously, would you take these out on the town? Don't they get rather hot in the heat of summer? Won't they melt or get yukky on the overheated asphalt? I know they're not suitable for the office, nor are they exactly appropriate for an elegant outfit, so enlighten me here. Perhaps it's a mental obstacle--one that stubbornly refuses to re-live my misguided youth by getting plastic-clad. I love Marc Jacobs with a passion, but it's really hard for me to embrace his line of jelly shoes (he seems to come up with new models every year now).
