We'd put a half cork tap in the front of the shoe to push you back into the heel (the grips push you forward). But it does tighten the toe. What I usually do for people then is a half/half tap placed approx metatarsal area.

Also, Sure grip adhesive patches for the bottom. Don't know how to keep you from falling without potentially damaging bottom and preventing later re-sale. WHat about packing tape, LOL? Kinda serious...
