It was interesting, though I would have to disagree with some of the basic tenets, such as high heels being one of the main differences between men and women. May I remind the author it hasn't always been so? Pumps were menswear for quite a while--and yes, they had to do with status, of course. Unfortunately, in women's case high heels have less to do with status and more to do with (you guessed it!)...sex! Now, that seems unfair, at the very least.
