I would go with something with a little 'sexy' to it. You don't want to look to frumpy and out of date. I don't like the look of flats with a suit (both pants and skirt suits). I think that your shoes should compliment your suit. If you have a very feminine suit your shoes should be more conservative, if your suit is conservative your shoes should be more feminine.

That's just my opinion!
