Unhappy French Sole ballet flats

I misguidedly wore these French Sole ballet quilted flats with black patent cap toe today. Cute and comfortable, as everybody said--BUT I couldn't keep my insole inserts in them for the life of me. On the plus side, they're not constricting in the toe-box. And of course, they're cute. On the minus side, they run quite big (I wear a 10 normally, but I had to go a full size down in this one, and even then, my orthotics flapped out of them), and -- they're too flat to be truly, properly comfortable for someone with such a high arch as me.

At any rate, the choice was misguided because today of all days it started to snow and it was unbearably cold. I was going only a relatively short distance, but still, I regreted it.
