I agree that it adds something a bit extra when the colors dont match but compliment each other.. great point!

I'm pretty simple with fitted tees, jeans but I like different shoes with a bit of flair.

I do tend to have my shoes be the wilder/creative side of my outfit. But wearing, say, a red pump with a black/red belt can work out too.

i too like to take a more simple outfit and pair it with a wilder shoe that pops. I love skinny jeans and heals and actually found a cute pair of skinnies at Beverly Lane (BeverlyLane.com)

I generally wear all black.....but love to have some sort of a colorful shoe on (even if flats) that matches my nailpolish (usually dark red or purple...) it adds mystery!

Thumbs up Re: How do you match your shoes to an outfit, or do you?

Nicky Rox matches your shoes to an outfit! She uses ribbons, buttons, studs, etc. But the most exciting thing I found on her website was her Swarovski Colour Chart. Must be at least 50 colours on there to choose from. You can arrange an appointment and she matches the colours of your new dress, etc. to the colour chart.

New shoes that she sells you, or if your prefer, even your own existing shoes, can be decorated with Swarovski to match your outfit..... now.... how COOL is that!!!!!!!!!!!!

She has her own website.... worth a look!

I like to make my shoes the statement of my outfit.

If I wear a bold colour I wear shoes that are multi toned or textured. If I wear textures I wear shoes that are a bold bright colour that contrasts to the outfit so they really stand out but match the colour in with an accessory like my bag or earrings.

One of my favorite outfits is a black singlet with blue denim jeans and my Tony Bianco pale blue and white striped pumps with a tan and gold buckle. They really fashion up the casual look without being too much.
