Marc Jacobs Gladiator Boots

I dont know about you, but I for one will be so, so glad when this gladiator trend is over. I couldnt find one single flattering pair of these so-called gladiator sandals, and you know what, I think I know the reason: I AM NOT A GLADIATOR. An amazon, now, thats closer, but I doubt amazons wore gladiator sandals themselves--and why would they. Amazon footwear? Now thats a trend Id like to see.

Unlike this gladiator trend, which is taking things a little too far with--get this--gladiator boots. And from Marc Jacobs, no less, a designer I otherwise adore. This particular model is $785 (yup) at eLuxury. Not only do they strike me as ugly and overpriced, but also as completely and utterly impractical. Well, unless you wear them with hand-knit socks, a la Birkenstocks. Brrrr--I just got shivers down my spine typing that.
