Rene Caovilla Platform Coil Sandal

I have to admit that this is the first time I see an ankle-wrap sandal in which the wrap doesnt exactly wrap, tie, buckle, or is held together by snaps or buttons--instead, it coils around the ankle. I wonder how hard or elastic the coil is so that it actually stays put in place. At any rate, an elegant creation in gold leather and amber stones from Rene Caovilla, and also stunningly sexy (though I couldnt wear it for the life of me). If youre into that sort of thing, these platform sandals are $875 at Neiman Marcus.

Rene Caovilla is probably my favorite footwear designer. I first fell in love with his designs when shopping for bridal shoes-I found a gorgeous meticulously beaded and jeweled pair at Neimans, but with the 1700k price tag, I couldn't quite afford them. The shoes above are gorgeous, but I think I need a bit of a lower heel and a little more bling.
