Old Navy: Toe-tally Cool Flip Flop Design Contest

If any of you happened to drive by an <a href="http://oldnavy.gap.com/?redirect=true" target="_blank">Old Navy</a> store this past Saturday, you might have noticed the mad lines snaking out from the front of the store.* Apparently $1 flip-flops are impossible for many folks to miss a shot at buying.

Happily, I missed the local madness, but did find myself the local Old Navy store on Sunday <em>(It was just a day after the flip-flop sale and there were only 2 pair of lonely flip-flops surrounded by empty display space in the entire store)</em>.* While there, I found out about a promotional tie-in to the Memorial Day weekend flip-flop event that is still ongoing.

If you are like me and have a young fashionista (or two) in training - this contest is for them.

Aspiring shoe-designers (US and Canada) aged 12 and younger are being asked to design a flip-flop for Old Navy. The winning design will be produced and sold at Old Navy Stores.

Entry forms are available at brick-and-mortar Old Navy locations; entry deadline is June 7, 2009.* All your young designer needs to do is color an original design and then nag you to return it to the nearest Old Navy location.

And, to help us grownups to be responsible and not miss the contest deadline: There is detachable 20% off discount coupon at the bottom of the entry form.* It's good until June 7th, so there's no excuse not to find your way back to the store before the contest deadline has passed.

<strong>8/7 Update:</strong> We just learned from Old Navy's PR Department that the winners were <em>just </em>notified. However, that info will not be released to the* general public for another week.* As soon as we hear back, we will let you know.
