UT Austin's Hallway of Shoes

When I was visiting a friend in Austin this year, we went to a rehearsal of hers at UT and the hallway leading to the costume shop in the theater building was full of none other than ... shoe photos. Lovely! The best hallway eye candy one could have.

I think I'll take the time to talk about a different shoe in each post I do for this series.

All shoe lovers certainly must have a paragon for their perfect Cinderella shoe, the one that will finally be comfortable, fit right, be trendy, sexy and classic, and look lovely in every way. It'll also magically make the man who doesn't know you exist love you, elevating you to a place of happiness. Sigh ... if only. Yeah right! Most days we're lucky if we make it through without breaking a heel, tearing the leather or getting a band of blisters. And so I love the twist that Lars Hagen put on that ideal by creating the shoe above, which implies beauty but also, as Art &amp; Sole says, "vanity and pain." It may be unwearable, but it certainly is pointed, interesting shoe art!

And though I've lost my camera that had the shoe photos from the Victoria &amp; Albert Museum in London, I intend on writing about them as well. So many shoes to write about, so little time!
