Default Jimmy Choo

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I want to buy my wife a pair of Jimmy Choo’s for Christmas. I don’t have a pile of money and as I look on the internet people say don’t get ripped off, don’t buy fakes. OMG how do you know where to look and what is safe to buy. I only have 5 or 6 hundred to spend so I can’t afford the latest fall 09. I’ve looked at hundreds of web sites, found this one but seems too good to be true. Anyone ever bought from here? Jimmy Choo High Heels : Christian Louboutin - online shopping, www.shoes-wear.com

Please someone help me.

Hi Tiger:

What a sweet hubby! Kudos to you for starting your holiday shopping early.

With regards to the site you mentioned, please stay clear of it. There are a ton of knock off/fake sites and this is one of them.

Depending on where you live, here are a few suggestions for you.

1) In a couple weeks, H&M and Jimmy Choo will be releasing a time capsule collaboration. The shoes are priced in the mid-$100 range so with your budget, you can even purchase a few types of shoes. Here is a link to some options:

Since this is a limited collection in select stores, you might want to arrive before the store opens to get your hands on this. I anticipate the collection will be sold out very quickly.

2: Shop the outlets. Assuming you live near a Jimmy Choo, Saks, Barneys, or Neiman Marcus Last Call outlet, you can usually purchase Choos from the spring line for a discount.

3. Nordstroms Women Half Yearly sale is on November 4th. Select designer and styles from the current season will be on sale for a limited basis. This is a hit or miss but it doesn't hurt to try.

4. Shop the sales. For the major luxury department stores, there are often sale racks that come out around the holidays.

Finally, here is a list of reputable sites we can recommend. There are a few classy styles that are even within your price range.

DSW

NetaPorter

Saks

Good luck and let us know how we can help out!

Hi Tiger:

To add to the list, Foot Candy also sells authentic Jimmy Choo's.

Some of the summery flats are selling for $175. These Jimmy Choo Pascal sandals are $312 (50% off ) and the color will work with a multitude of outfits.

One thing you should check on is the return policy for these places. If you order now, you might not be able to do a exchange/return since Xmas is still a ways out.

I also recommend signing up for email alerts from Saks, Nieman Marcus, Bloomingdale & Nordstrom. They will often have store-buck events and notices of one-day sales that will have shoes under $500 or give you future shopping cash for current purchases.

Nieman Marcus & Saks often have unannounced clearance items, so looking online at least once per week (at the end of the week before Saturday can often get you good deals without a lot of competition). Also, call the Nordstrom Seattle (flagship) store a few days before their sales and you can often get a sales rep to email you with any styles that are expected to go on sale. Often, these can be pre-saled with a charge-send and will be available to mail to you or be picked up once the official sale dates arrive. I've even had Nordstrom find an item at another store and have it sent to my home.

You can also check with the Jimmy Choo website for information on your closest boutiques. If you can establish a relationship with a sales representative, they can often let you know if any pre-sales are coming up in case you need or want to get on a waiting list or have items held for sales pricing.

Hope this helps. Calling shoe boutiques and shoe depts of larger luxury chains is time-consuming, but can pay off.

Hi Tiger:

I just noticed that Nordstroms has a bunch of styles (including Jimmy Choo boots and sandals) priced from $300-$500.

What I love about Nordstroms is their excellent customer service policies. Last I checked, they don't have a return period so you can buy now and still return after Xmas if the shoe doesn't fit your wife's shoe size or taste. If you don't have one in your area, any purchase above $100 has free shipping too.
