Hello One and All,

sure I don't have to say I'm new here but I am. I'm finally going to get my fiancee a pair of CL's (learned to reference these initials reading postings today). She loves Mary Jane style.

I was headed out the door to Nordstroms here in Houston, TX, when it dawned on me, I haven't checked sites. Needless to say, I missed all of the major store sales or so it seems.

Will there be another similar sale like this before 12/25/09? If not, I guess there's no real reason for me to wait? I also noticed in a SAKS designer sale, none of the sizes were anywhere near US6 or 6.5; is this typical, smaller sizes go first?

Thanks to everyone in advance who can help me get out there this weekend or wait a bit

Louboutins often sell out entire styles. But, most shoes are stocked with greater numbers in the 7.5 to 9 range since most women fall into that size range. Your best option if you are trying to buy a genuine louboutin pre-christmas is to check the following sites each day:

Nieman Marcus, Saks, Net-a-porter, Barneys, Bluefly (most other sites are suspect as counterfeiters). At this time of year, you can get unexpected styles on 1-day/last call clearance. Those are where a lone shoe in size 6.5 or 10 at a discount are most common.

I have until the 17th of this month to go out and get a pair as her b'day is on the 18th. I'm going to be diligent about checking out the sites you referenced.

I did see a few CL's not on sale in the Mary Jane style which will do in crunch time; just trying to save a couple bucks

Also, as I look at Saks site, their "FIT MODEL RECOMMENDS # ordering one half size up as this style runs small", this may also save me as size 7 or even 7.5 may be necessary.

Does anyone know if its a true statement regarding CL sizing running small? Thank you.

My understanding is that Louboutin's tend to run narrow rather than small (length). So, in many cases, a size may be better ordered a half size to full size larger (depending on style) if your gal is like a lot of us and has a medium or wide foot. The Saks recommendation is a recent and appreciated addition, since in the past you had to find someone who owned the style & get their opinion on fit for that style.

Also, there are TONS of fakes on ebay. The one seller I know of who is legit is naturalgasgirl, but her prices aren't usually cheap since there remains an aftermarket demand for women hunting for prized out of stock styles.

FYI, avoid most sites with Louboutin in the title. Spending $200-$500 for a fake would be a terrible rip off & disappointment.

I am wide in the ball of my foot. While I don't own CL's, I have tried on several pair. I found them to be narrower than most US shoes, but not necessariy shorter than US shoes. I wear a full size larger in CL.

BTW I saw a few CL's in a Dallas Neiman Marcus on sale. This wasn't a NM outlet, but it was an older, redheaded step-sister type NM. (I wish I could remember exactly where I was so I could tell you.) While they weren't killer sales, they were about 20% off. It has been quite a while, but you might check in a Houston NM to see if they have anything. I am not sure if a NM clearance store has CL's

Thanks for the information everyone; no worries, I don't plan on shopping anywhere online other than a reputable store. As a matter of fact, whichever shoe fits will be picked up in person... not waiting on delivery for such a pricey shoe.

Galligator; I appreciate the sizing info. I don't think I'll have a problem as her foot is pretty small to begin with and she is petite. Hopefullly, half or full size should cover the fitting. Overall, I'm expecting to have a gift receipt so she'll be able to tweak whatever it is I find.

R5, thanks for the heads up on NM outlets. I'll search for them and/or contact NM to see if its possible they are around.
