In my mind, I can't imagine how rubber Y thongs sitting atop foam could be considered fashionable. To me, flip flops are simply cheap sandals that I wear to the beach or to the swimming pool. They keep my feet cool from the scorching sand or cement. However, I must admit that I've never really given much thought to how they go with my swimsuit and couldn't imagine there would be such a thing as "designer" flip flops.
Dolce and Gabbana wants to show me that flip flops can, in fact, be fashionable. From the D&G Beachwear Fun Summer 2007 line, D&G has introduced 2 flip flops. Both have the D&G logo printed on the foam and the thong. Priced at $85, I'll stick with my $5 flops from Target. |

I'm a big fan of Havaianas, which are really comfy (none of that cutting into your foot from sharp strap edges... the edges of the Havaianas straps are nicely rounded), come in a variety of styles, and still don't cost an arm and a leg. You can find them for around $15-20 depending on style (unless you want the ones that are adorned with crystals and things, which can be more).
