The second of the driver releases for TaylorMade continues the namesake which was met with much laughter and confusion last year. Hot on the heels of the R1 driver is the new TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 Driver. The 2013 offering, the RBZ Stage 2, employs TaylorMade's standard Flight Control Technology, which will allow the golfer to adjust the lofts 1.5 degrees in either direction.

2013 is the year of the adjustable driver. Each and every driver announced for release in 2013 has built-in adjustable technology, from the second generation of adjustable drivers from Callaway, the X Hot to the Ping G25 Driver and Irons as well we Nike's VrS Covert Driver. Also the creator of adjustable drivers, TaylorMade, still remains near the top of the driver world with the R1 and the RBZ Stage 2.

There is talk among some PGA Tour players that the RocketBallz Stage 2 driver is the most surprising club among the introductions. The standard model is designed with a slight draw bias while the Tour model has a neutrally placed center of gravity. The center of gravity has been moved lower and forward, and the entire clubhead is more aerodynamic this year.

The RBZ Stage 2 driver will also be available in a Tour model, unlike the TaylorMade R1 Driver which is only available in a single model. Available lofts in both Stage 2 driver models are 9, 10.5 and 13 (which is labeled HL). An adjustable sleeve allows for alterations in loft, lie angle and face angle. The loft adjustment range is 1.5 degrees up or down from the standard loft. TaylorMade has elected to restrict it to 1.5° degrees in either direction, and so multiple lofts (heads) will be available.

Lighter (50 grams) Fujikura RocketFuel shaft, light grip help keep the overal weight of the TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 driver below 300 grams, making the head of the RBZ Stage 2 driver more aerodynamic while also making the clubface larger was a tremendous challenge and succeeding was critical to promoting performance that’s superior to the first generation RBZ driver.

"Loft-Sleeve Technology" is incorporated in the TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 driver to give golfers the ability to adjust loft angle, lie angle and face angle. Other design characteristics of the clubhead and overall golf clubs for sale promote a moderate draw bias. The RBZ Stage 2 fairway woods have a shallower profile that allowed much more versatility in our testing.
