Default Most Restricive forum

Just to post a simple question, I have to go and reply 5 times to start a thread, I think this is a bit much. Also I cannot search for men shoes as it removes shoes and says my search word is too small. What is wrong with searching for Men? I was looking for a men's shoes area.

Hello,

I am not the forum owner, but I do know that there have been some SPAM issues in the past. The 5-post limit is very easy to reach if you are someone who is really interested in helping a smaller site forum like this to grow and stay lively.

As for the search, there may be update issues that we can point out to the site owner. The majority of folks here tend to have an interest in women's and designer shoes, but as more people participate then maybe those things will change as issues are identified & addressed.

Oh, & welcome to the forum.

yup, I'm writing my fifth post in reply to this thread. I find the same thing, I just want to post a simple question, but I have to force out 5 random posts just to do it....

Many forum sites are doing this sort of thing to keep from being flooded with adverti*****ts. Happens to any site with a title referring to something that can be sold - shoes, hats, you name it.
And this is pretty modest - I know of one with a 50-post limit before personal messaging is enabled.
Anyway, this isn't a very active site these days, but galligator is just about the most helpful admin I've ever found and you can rely on her to assist. (Disclosure: I am not related to her ;-)
Welcome from me, too!

Edit: But the nanny editor is absolutely ridiculous!!!

I have to agree that the language editor can be awfully goofy & obviously not very smart. But, mostly it flags the occasional X-rated spam. Maybe when this forum is more grown up & needs more full-time moderation we will have more sanity on that whole language issue.

BTW, it's nice to see folks coming back to the forums & the blog page. Folks have to return for us to grow.

It's hard to be a newbie, alas. But I'm happy to see I recognize some names from the Purse Forum!

And we are much less strict than TPF! Or my hubby's hunting & other forums.

Thought I recognized the name!
