So, like many Project Runway fans, I was totally excited to hear the news last year that Christian Siriano was designing a line of shoes and bags for Payless. His sophomore fashion show just wrapped at NY Fashion Week, during which the shoe collection was revealed:
After his floral fixation last season, the style direction for this line was a bit of a shock. The spiky Rodarte was one of my favorite looks from last season so I'm glad to see that I'll be able to get my hands on a much, much cheaper version (even it is in brown, which I hate) but I'm surprised that he would rip such a well-known style so soon in his career. I LOVE the aqua shoe though! It's printed with a hieroglyphic-like print (his design inspiration was Egypt). Overall I like the look of the collection, but wonder if it's not too edgy for Payless which pretty much caters to a middle-of-the-road consumer (I'm not knocking it btw, I shop there!).
What do you think: will it be a sell-out or a flop?
