How to stop heel wearing?

What are the things you put on the bottom of your heel to keep it from wearing down? I need some, but I can't remember what they're called!

I always take my shoes to a local shoe repair place and have my shoes re-heeled and put rubber for safer and long lasting effect.

i dont wear mine if its rainy or snowy outside, i wipe mine them after every wear to keep them clean, i dust them when theyve been sitting in my shoe closet for awhile, and i get scuffs repaired ASAP...this usually keeps all my heels pretty nice looking...im not hard on my heels though so they normally last a really long time for me
