Color match: pink and purple?

So, I have these pink and purple shoes (a Taryn Rose baby pink wedge, and a Louboutin purple suede pair the color of lavender) and only one purple velvet bag. Now, can I match the purple bag (a Pollini, with croc-print brown leather trim) with the all-pink wedges? (wedge is also covered in pink Napa leather, and the vamp is pink suede, with a dusty-rose kind of look). They seem to be from the same color family, and I (admittedly) have rather old-fashioned ideas about color-matching. I still can't bring myself to buy a pink bag (is that a must in one's wardrobe, I wonder?) so I'm just wondering what's the best color match for pink shoes, in terms of bags? I know, I know, I'm supposed to coordinate, so that's my attempt.

I have brown and black bags, of course, and a grey one w/ blue and green accents, and a gold one with a multicolor fabric inset, and a white one with blue and green accents, and a green velvet one--and that's just about it. Oh, plus the purple, which is fabulous, and I was wondering if matching it to pink shoes is overkill. No? Yes? And forget the outfit, I often dress around my shoes, so there....
