Need help finding shoes for mountain biking?

I've broke 4 shoelaces since the start of year mountain biking. I need to find a pair of shoes that I can wear mountain biking, without laces. Vans and converse slipons seem a bit flimsy, any other suggestions. Right now I have been wearing skate shoes without laces, and I tried Doc Martens but the laces broke two fast. Now they don't have shoelaces. Any suggestions, I've trying tucking the laces in, and double knotting, yet trail side branches, and rubbing next to the gears and chain, break them quickly, or if they don't the next time I wear the shoes the laces break when I'm at work or out and about. It's really embarrasing to have to finish what i'm doing and then find shoelaces. Anyone else with this problem?

Well, I'm not a mountain biker, so I don't know exactly what you look for in your shoes, but I'd suggest checking out Merrell. They've got a lot of slip-on styles with various ways of staying on your feet that don't involve laces. Here's the link to their page of "Mocs," none of which lace up.

I'd keep an eye out on sierratradingpost.com. If you check the website somewhat regularly, they have a good, rotating selection of many options of outdoor shoes. I buy my hiking shoes there (granted they have laces!).

I've found the REI store to be a great resource whenever I have questions related to outdoor fitness. In case there isn't a location near you, I went to the REI website and found these bike shoes, none of which have laces. Besides knowledgable staff, I also like REI because they have one of the best satisfaction guaranteed/return/exchange programs out there, which make the prices well worth it!

Okay, I'm starting to sound like a walking REI billboard, but you can also find great deals at the REIOutlet.

Hope this helps.
