Help please..Pointy Shoes
Hey everyone!
I love the way pointy shoes look on other women, but when I put them on the side view I think is HORRIBLE!! They make my feet look so big. So my question is, do you know where I can find pointy shoes where it doesn't draaaaaaaaag on till it gets to the point? (I like heels, so the higher the better! :)
I saw some shoes on a girl I know and they are a kind of white-greyish colour and have a buckle like thing. Not sure of the brand..think it starts with an "A".lol sorry about the bad description.
ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Help please..Pointy Shoes
I bought a pair of the Miu Miu pointy flats from Net-A-Porter and they are cute without being too long. I have long feet as well, so I know what you mean!

Ditto! I have size 10 feet, so I totally sympathize.
There are pointy shoes and pointy shoes. I, too, have a pair of Miu-Miu flats where the "slope" toward the tip starts kinda later (if you will, it's a shorter, squatter triangle, instead of an elongated one)--and that type of shoes is ok. I'm attaching a picture for exemplification.
A year ago, however, I got this pair of shoes in black:

They're the Hollywould "Bateau" style. Adorable, no? The black version was very classy and they fit well. But... they made my shoes look like bateaux. Boats, to be precise. They gaped a little unattractively at the sides, the pointy toe extended about 10 inches above my toe, it was a bad scene. Had to return them.
But, sales ***** that I am, I saw these again later, in coral (pictured) for...$39.95, back in the heyday of Zappos sales. Given that this was over 90% off, I couldn't resist (you will notice that they're still on sale now, but for an impossible price--$265, down from $422). For $40, I was willing to take the risk again with a different color--and what do you know! The softer color, with a less pronounced contrast than the black and white, actually made a difference. These shoes are very comfortable and yes, well, maybe look a tad large, but not disgustingly so.
So, pick your battles when it comes to pointy toed shoes. You won't win all of them. But with some persistence, and if you keep trying on shoes, you're bound to find something you'll fall in love with and that looks really good on you.
Re: Help please..Pointy Shoes
My problem with pointy-toed shoes is that my feet are pretty wide at the toes, so when a shoe starts to get narrow right there... bad combination.
The few pointy-toed shoes I own all somehow have magical proportions, so they don't start to narrow until after the widest point of my foot. Unfortunately, the only way I can ever tell if this is the case is by trying them on and walking around in them, which isn't much help as far as buying advice.
