I saw someone wearing flat brown sandals that looked like lyrical dance shoes with soles. I think they were suede...anyway, I've been looking everywhere for them and I was wondering if anyone could help me...or tell me what they are called?

Hm....what do you mean by 'lyrical dance shoes with soles'--which are also sandals? I must confess I have no idea what that means. Help please!

Well, lyrical dance shoes look like this (or at least all the ones I can find do):
and they don't have soles. These were a dark brown version of these shoes, with a very flat sole...so they kept the same "earthiness" I guess, no clunkiness.
Hi, and thanks for the clarification.
The closest thing to these that I can think of is a pair of Repetto thongs (they do create dance-inspired footwear)--something like this:
They're $148 at Bird LA, and they're also available at various other places on the Internet, as well as on sale in some stores (I found them in a Philly shoe store for half the price).
There are also these:
Just $45 at Piperlime.

You could also try buying belly dancing shoes (about $45), which have a full sole, and could technically be worn outside.
You might want to have a cobbler add a layer to the bottom of the sole so you don't go slipping and sliding down the street, but they'd still have that flat, earthy, dancer look.
