Default Foot Petal's Sole Stopperz Alternative?

I just bought a pair of Miss Sixty Assuncion's off Zappos the other day. I received them yesterday to find out that the soles are completely smooth. I almost slipped and killed myself on my carpet twice. I heard that scuffing up the bottom of the soles will help, but what if I want to resell at a later date? I also know about Foot Petal's Sole Stopperz, but I would like to be able to find something else in a store. I really want to wear these shoes as soon as this weekend.

    Any ideas?

Also, I need to purchase a heel grip for these shoes as well. They have a slight gap in the back. Does anyone have a favotire brand to recommend?

    Thanks!

Forget about a heel grip. Heel grips just fill up space and they don't make the shoes fit better. Try a half pad in the front of the shoe and it'll slide you foot to the back. As for the slipping there are all sorts of pads for the soles of the shoes out there. I can't remember off-hand the name of the one we use in our stores but it's a half pad for the sole.

    Ok. Cool.

What are these things to put on the outside called? I can't seem to find them. probably because I am using the wrong name.

Honestly, I would recommend a good shoe shop, where they can actually put taps or partial (or full) outsoles on your shoes. You should definitely ask them about it.

I have been doing more research about it tonight. I will be calling around to several shoe places in the morning.

    Thanks all!

If you do end up fixing the problem, would you mind sharing it with us? I'm curious myself, having some similar shoes in my collection. Thanks!

This is what I have so far. I took them to a shoe repair shop, and they are going to put a protective rubber sole on the sole and heel to make them even. I am also having the toe box stretched. After I get them back, I will be getting an insert to push my foot back into the heel more. I am thinking about trying the Insolia. I think I will grab a couple of foot products.

I should get them back in about a week. I'll post pics when I get them back.

From the limited experience I have with Insolia (I have a pair in a pair of heels that I don't wear very frequently), they're pretty good, but if you're looking to push your foot back in the shoe (which is definitely what you need to reduce heel slippage), you're probably best off going with something like Foot Petals' TipToes.

They'll give you some cushion under the ball of your foot, and push your whole foot back in the shoe so the heel should slip less.

Plenty of companies make these, but the Foot Petals ones do happen to come in a variety of fun colors and patterns.

I had a pair of no name gels that are like those Foot Petals. I hated them. I think that I will just man up and order a pair of Foot Petals. Since my shoes are going to be gone for about a week, I can wait for the shipping.

tacco heel grips, velvet w/extra center bar (we retail 3.50, LOL). Admittedly, they do work better in flatter shoes. We'd put a half cork tap in the front of the shoe to push you back into the heel (the grips push you forward). But it does tighten the toe. What I usually do for people then is a half/half tap placed approx metatarsal area.

Also, Sure grip adhesive patches for the bottom. Don't know how to keep you from falling without potentially damaging bottom and preventing later re-sale. WHat about packing tape, LOL? Kinda serious...
