A strappy gold sandal is always a good option, but if it's not your style, forget it! Go for the bootie. Besides, the dress seems to play the first violin here, so you need to highlight it and downplay the shoes a little bit. How about these ankle boots?
![]() They're Stuart Weitzman and they're on a great 60% off sale at Arthur Beren Shoes. These are also pretty awesome (MaxStudio), but I'm afraid the heel makes them unwearable: Good luck!

Very nice! I especially love those Stuart Weitzman's.
However, I think my first idea of the gold shoe is probably where I'm going to end up. The ankle boots may come later, when I have more time to hunt for them. But as the party is this coming weekend, I'm a bit short on time. I went hunting for gold shoes of course, and found these gorgeous things at Zappos. ![]() They're absolutely perfect in all respects but one. They're the right color gold for the dress (a classic yellow gold). They're not too high and on a wedge no less. They've got an adorable cut-out detail in the back. I adore them. But they're almost $400, and there's no way that's going to happen for a pair of shoes that I won't wear very often. Argh.
