Default Making peep-toes fit more snuggly

I was on a recent shopping trip to Melbourne and was conscious of lots of walking, swollen feet etc when buying shoes as I've been caught out before (get back home and they're all half a size too big!).

I was so careful this time but I have a pair of peep-toes that is now falling off my feet. Just slightly too big in length I think but comfy elsewhere.

I have so far put gels under the ball of the foot + heel gel pads + leather heel grips on the backs of the heels (inside where your foot's heel rests in the shoe) + odour eaters!

And they still slip off when I walk. The shoes are black patent 3.5" peeptoes with little bows on the toes. Ladies, I know you will feel my pain!

Any ideas/tricks I should try to make them fit better?

Wow, it seems like you've tried everything I would have tried to make these lovely shoes fit. I too have some inserts for the ball of the foot--they stick to the sole, and help--but it sounds like you already did that. My first impression is grim--doesn't look like your lovely shoes are going to fit any better, if nothing worked so far. There are all sorts of tricks to stretch shoes--unfortunately, I've heard of none to make shoes shrink!

There's one radical solution: get some colorful tights that will look trendy with your shoes and wear socks under them. Maybe that will snug them up a bit!

Besides, tights are still going to be trendy for winter!

    Thanks both for your input!

Regarding the tights/socks idea... I'm a wee bit conservative and fishnets are about as funky as I get (I'm a Technical Writer you see). Also, we are heading into Spring/Summer here in New Zealand so I had planned to wear these with my lighter outfits.

I have an update however! I stuck on another pair of suede heel grip thingeys over the ones I already had stuck on and I test-strutted the shoes yesterday morning and evening and so far so good. I'll wear them all day tomorrow and report back to the forum.

So... I spent NZ$160 on the shoes and NZ$55 on bloody shoe paraphenalia! Am I mad? No, just a woman with a fab pair of shoes she is determined to wear!

    Thanks again!

    Hi again

Well, I tried the shoes again with all the paraphenalia and unfortunately it just didn't work. They were really uncomfortable and still were loose on my feet.

So I'll wait again until it's high Summer here in January/February when my feet should swell up and try again!

    Regards
    Jody
