Believe it or not but any forum with even moderate activity is prone to 'bots & SPAM. I just finished banning a new user who was busy setting up 15 different ID's for spamming. The 5-post minimum requires that you be a real person with - hopefully- some common interest in building and being involved in a growing and friendly online community. The amount of things like Porn hits & Trolls are significantly reduced by this measure. And, since I have been on forums with much stricter posting guidelines, this is a small compromise to try to keep this forum fucused for shoe enthusiasts.
