me and my hubby wore custom made converse to our wedding!! I had ones which were completely white with "THE BRIDE" stitched into the side and my hubby wore bright orange ones with "THE GROOM" in the side.

I wore a huge dress and he wore a white suit - so it wasnt like we looked scruffy - it was just a nice touch to the day, which everyone commented on. unfortunately the forum wont let me post a picture of them yet

maybe when I get a few more posts up - i'll upload a pic

One thing I DO NOT recommend is getting your shoes dyed by an online company. I ordered dyeable pumps for all of my bridesmaids and they wouldn't let me send in a color swatch! Instead, they told me to go to colorpicker.com to select the exact shade I wanted. When the shoes arrived the color was completely wrong and the company wouldn't take them back! Not wanting to give this company my business again by buying a whole new set, I ended up finding the same shoes on the site where I got my wedding favors - on online store called Moments of Elegance .com They told me that they purposely do not offer dyeing services for this very reason. I got my shoes in plain white and took them to a local store where I was able to provide them with my color swatches. They turned out beautifully but I'm still ****ed about the $200 I wasted on what were supposed to be "coral" shoes (they looked like ugly reddish tangerine). btw, i love the converse idea! we're gonna do something similar for the reception.

This question is like asking what is the best wedding dress brand. There is no such thing because the criteria is entirely subjective. ( I love big words) I can give you my opinion.
1) I detest dyed shoes. There are so many wonderful shoes available, why put your money into that?
2)If you are looking for shoes for a bride, look for something that is comfortable. You will be standing all day long. I found that jewel type embellishments will hook up on the skirt of the dress.
3) Since I don't know what your budget is, here is a variety of shoe samples.

From our illustrious Galligator: Peter Fox

From a company that sponsored a shoe give away: Nina

A few stunning pair:
Cole Haan

Manolo Blahnik

Christian L

An unusual pair: these can be made for you Cydwoq

If I were getting married tomorrow I would probably choose this pair:Valentino(I would probably wear an off the rack dress, but they would remember my shoes.)-laughing-

Vera Wang has one of the most nicest collection. You could check that out. I bought the open toe sling back a month ago for my wedding this September. No embellishment means no mess up on my dress. My dress is made of silk and laces that's why.
