Help me choose please! I am completely torned between buying black or nude. Can I wear nude through Fall and Winter and maybe next year? Or should I get the classic black?
This is the one in nude: http://www.shoewawa.com/opening-ceremony.jpg What do you think? |

My closet is full of black but very little nude. I think if you find a nude you love, you can get a lot of wear from it if you are looking for a more subtle neutral. Black is always in fashion, but can seem heavy with lighter fall colors. This one seems almost more of a tan or light brown, which will go with a lot of things from blue jeans to dresses. A good thing to do is to look at what color clothes are predominant in your closet. I have a lot of bright blue, green, reds + loads of black, so I have more black shoes. If you have more browns, oranges, yellows or pastels, a nude will match wonderfully.

The good thing about having nude shoes is that you can wear it any color of your outfit.

Hey thanks you both for the great tip. my closet also have a lot of black shoes but the color palette of my clothes is predominantly on the darker side. i agree it's easy to match nude shoes to outfit colors. I think when i was trying it on, the nude looks great with my jeans. i think i tend to go for a black top with blue jeans with black shoes and seems a bit boring some times. nude shoes gave my outfit another perspective.
so Fall is okay but how about Winter? Do you think nude is here to stay or just a temporary trend? |

I'm sure they're fine for winter so long as they are appropriate to your climate. They are a true neutral rather than a trendy color, so you will always get some use from them. Probably more so than a white shoe since white is less subtle than an earthier neutral.
