Default Help-- Shoe prototyping and production questions

Hi, I am new to this forum, and I am scavenging around for information on how to get started in shoe business.

Currently I have a couple of sneaker designs and I was wondering what is the general route to get them produce, like the first prototype, and then where should i go from there to get it mass produce to around 1000-10000 units?

I am quite clueless on this info, and any advice would help, links, books, contact emails/numbers to any leads on how I can get started would be nice! I have looked around on some websites and found some taiwanese/chinese manufactures but I am unsure how the process works. Like do i take a Shoe prototype to them, and have them look at it and make it?

I guess the most important question out of all of this is this, where do I go to find people to prototype my first pullover.

I also have numerous designs and this has been the one area where I can never seem to find any information. Every time you try to search for shoe manufacturing or shoe prototyping you get a bunch of useless information. Help in heading in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I really don't have a good answer on this. You could try to contact one of the smaller shoe manufacturers to find out if they can refer you to a manufacturer.

Another route would be to join a trade manufacturing organization or subscribe to an industry periodical such as footwear news.

Hope this gives you a place to start.

Honestly, a lot of people will take a few minutes to respond to an honest and polite email expressing interest in their industry.
