Tall or short boot

I am looking for a boot that i will be able to walk around, go to work in, wear in the winter weather, and wear a skirt, pants with. Should i go with an ankle boot, or a tall boot? What are your experiences? Thank you.

I find a knee-high boot to be wearable with most styles of skirts as well as jeans or slacks. If you only can invest in 1 pair, choose a dark brown or black low-heeled knee-high boot. It is a classic that will last you for years.

I like a tall boots you can wear them over skinny jeans and wear them with skirts as well as under jeans
