Over the past few years, there has been a huge upsurge in the number of shoes that have elastic around either the heel or the entire rim of the shoe. For example, see these adorable Dior slippers:
![]() I always love the idea of shoes like this. But unfortunately, they always cut into the back of my heel, right on the Achilles tendon. Does anyone else have better luck?

My problem is that they won't stay on and slide back! I guess it's a matter of the individual anatomy of the foot.
That being said, I was quite attracted to these Bernardo flats, on sale at Nordstrom: ![]() --very similar in concept with the famous Tory Burch ballerinas. But I'm afraid they won't stay on, either...

Elasticized shoes -- I agree with jitterbugbaby. A good concept to get the shoes to stay on when they're otherwise flimsy, but I have yet to find a pair that doesn't dig into my heels. Even my beloved Sue London's will leave a mark after a while.
