So, I am a big supporter for incorporating high heels into men's shoes. So what I want you all to do is post pictures of high heel styles that you think would work for men's fashion and state why you think they would work. I've started with a couple of pics.
The first pic, black oxfords, I think work because they are originally inspired from the men's wing tip shoes. They have a nice non-feminie rounded toe and a comfortable heel height. The stiletto might be a little too feminine but I think it would still work with a nice pair of jeans .The second I think works because it's a nice non-feminine color with non-feminine rounded toe as well as a think heel that might give the man who is not as light on his feet a little more balance. ![]() What do you guys think... |

I like the first shoes over the second one.. but they are both gorgeous..

The second is definitely the more 'conservative' of the two pair.

Dont really think that would work

lol, so i bought two new pairs of shoes (not necessarily new but still close to it). And my choices happened to not be on the list i made in my previous post here's some pics. WHat you think?
One is a pair of boots by steve madden and the other is by YANNI by Chinese Laundry. |

Boots are a good choice. Sometimes androgynous but less confrontational than embellished feminine styles.
Somewhat related - I actually just watched Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band for the 1st time in 20 years & gotta say that Keith Richards worked the heeled boot without any hint of femininity. Gotta say that with women's styles, the message folks get is gonna be affected by overall style & attitude. So, you have to work out the fit into your style & life. We women actually go through a bit of experimenting to find our own 'shoe personality'. Though, the paranoia & cross-dressing hysteria about men wearing any heeled shoes reminds me of the whole uproar when women started wearing trousers in the US. It's also funny since historically my understanding is that men were the earliest wearers of heeled styles. |

lol, yeah, i'm not really the crossdresser type. I went to a drag ball once all decked out in female attire (even shaved my legs for the occasion
) but crossdressing definitely isn't my thing...I just really like the polished look a pair of heels presents and it also helps emphasize my slender shape. And yes, heeled shoes did start with men, first as riding boots then as a sign of your level in society. Look at the famous painting of King Louis the 14th in his red heels, although he was a ballerina as well . Anyway i'm pretty excited about my choices one is a nice androgynous look with a non-feminie toe and the second, although feminine, was just too adorable and too good a price to pass up (only $10). Hopefully I don't get my ass beat for wearing shoes like this....time will tell. |
