Default What do you think of women's oxfords?

I've been longing for a classic, no-frills oxford shoe, very much like a men's shoe, but with a feminine touch, and I think I found it:

They're from Delman, and they're on a fabulous 75% sale at Shoes.com, so if I want to get them, now's the time. I know they're kind of plain, and not exactly feminine, but I've been craving something more gender-bending, to complete my chameleonic wardrobe (which ranges from conservative to flowery in a heartbeat). They still look a little too much (for my comfort) like something my husband would wear, which has probably kept me from hitting "checkout" (yet), so I was wondering what you think--is it way too butch? (which I'm not exactly, though I do have a large 5'10" frame and an athletic physique) or can I pull it off with the right type of clothes? Any thoughts? Or alternately, any other ideas for an oxford that's not too femme-y but not too masculine either? (I know, I'm so specific I sometimes scare myself).

It's kind of boring to me. It's definitely an attractive shoe, but it's the sort of thing I would buy and then never, ever wear. I guess I do like my shoes to be kind of exciting. Plus, are they suede? The only time I really ever wear shoes with laces is when the weather is cold and/or crappy, and typically I do not want suede on days like that. That said, Delman is a great brand... So I guess my vote would be no, but I'm going to keep my eye out for oxfords.

They don't do a whole lot for me in the style department, but they are certainly that classic oxford look. I'm also a big fan of oxford shoes, and have several pairs myself, so I fully understand the appeal. I don't think these are necessarily too butch. If you put these on with a great pair of jeans and a collared white shirt with some colorful scarf, it could be a classic, stylish outfit.

I guess my overall reviews is that they don't knock me out, but they do seem to be what you're after. I've got to agree with Nemtynakht that suede can be difficult. But if you don't mind the suede factor, then go for it.
