Default What's the best walking shoe for men?

I'm looking for the most comfortable casual (non sneaker) mens walking shoe out there. Can you help me?
I like my Clarks Natural, but they are a little heavy. Thanks.
Ken

Ken, we're specializing mostly in women's shoes here, which means that many of our subscribers are not going to be very knowledgeable about men's shoes--at least not first hand. My only (cautious) recommendation for now is to have a look at Taryn Rose's men's line (here). All the Taryn Rose shoes we tried here at Shoeblog (I personally own five pairs) are well made, stylish, and extremely comfortable (though on the pricey side). Perhaps that's true of the men's shoes?

For more specific advice, may I recommend the following forums:
- ASK ANDY ABOUT CLOTHES
- Style Forum - Discussion of Men's Clothing, Streetwear, Denim, Health, & Lifestyle
- thelondonlounge.net (this last one is by INVITED registration only, the most snobbish of them all)

Good luck!

Having worked with both men's and women's shoes, I can recommend a few brands to check out, Ken. Mephisto is pretty much the cream of the crop, as far as I'm concerned. They make a range of men's shoes that goes from the more casual to fairly dressy.

If you're looking for something lighter in both price and weight, check out Ecco, which again has a pretty wide range of styles. Also in this category, but on the more casual side is Merrell.

For more general selections, check out sites or stores like The Walking Company, which should be able to help you figure out the right type of shoe for your needs.

Good luck.
