can you accept the replica shoes?
but very high quality... |

Hhhmmm.....it depends on the shoe I'd say and whether I own a pair of the real thing or not. For example, for the longest time, I've been wanting a pair of the Manolo Blahnik Sedarby (the infamous stole Carrie shoe) and I will not accept a replica so I will wait tilll I can afford it, however, I don't already own a pair of Manolos.
The one thing that bothers me about exact replicas is that you would be trying to pass them off for the real thing, for example, I saw on ebay an exact replica of a Christian Louboutin shoes which looked very high quality but I'd still wouldn't get them. It would make me feel like I'm trying to fool people. However, if the shoes were very similar but not exactly like the original then I would consider it. Does that make any sense? June PS. I'm not shallow, really! LOL Last edited by JuneHawk : 04-24-2007 at 04:21 AM. |

If the replica shoes are mirror image from original ones, high quality,I would buy replica shoes, the authentic ones are too expensive,I don't want to lose my money,it is not worth,as long as I feel good when wearing the shoes. It is ok.the authentic branded shoes are so expensive, because they need to pay much cost to invest the adverti*****t.If I buy authentic ones,in fact,I pay the cost of adverti*****t.
But I won't buy replica shoes with low quality, make sure! |

I'd never buy replica shoes! Why should I? I buy shoes cause I love the craftmanship and the idea behind. If I cannot afford a pair, there will be another one. For example espandrilles from spain are about $10. I just bought yesterday one pair espandrille wedge peeptoes in blue and white stripes. So no need for replicas. It would be like I'd kiss a picture but not the real guy sitting beside me.

Yes, I'm not too fond of imitations myself--if I really want a designer, I'd like the guarantee of quality and service that usually comes with big name brands and big prices.
But I can imagine that if I really wanted to try a style on--like, really really bad--I could spend $40 on a reasonable imitation instead of $600 on the original. However, I rarely if ever have these compulsions.

Yes, I would accept a replica. If cheaper shoes don't last as long that just means I get to buy new shoes more often.

I think for me it depends... I mean, for me there are imitation-replicas (Nine West's fake Tory Burch flats, complete with gold medallion) and then there are inspiration-replicas (shoes that might echo a designer shoe, but don't copy it down to the detailing). I buy shoes because I like them -- if I know the shoe is an explicit knock-off, I might not buy it. Then again, I like my shoes to be as original as possible, and knock-offs (by definition!) are anything but original.

At this point, copies that do not infringe on trademark are legal. If I see a legal inspired style, I may buy it. Particularly since I buy for style & comfort. It is particulary difficult since the original style may be one that you have never actually seen (as many of us live in small towns with few mid - high end stores). I do draw the line at actual fakes and shoes that go out of their way to misrepresent who the designer is (ie, certain styles of Oh Deer/Madden that were blatant CL copies down to the red sole). I also am appalled at the number of fakes out there with trademark elements & faked designer tags that are sold to unsuspecting folks for $200-600 who don't know any better.
