Default Great surprise.

So, a couple weeks ago, against my better judgement, I bid on a pair of Manolo's on ebay. It was a US auction and with the exchange rate as good for the Ł as it is, I thought I'd give it a shot. I bid with 3 hours left. The bidding at the time was at $80 or so and I put $200 as my highest bid and went to bed and forgot about it Never did I imagine I'd come home the next day to find out I had actually won.

Then I started freaking out cause even though the shoes were nice, they weren't by any means gorgeous. Then I was freaking because I thought they wouldn’t fit. Then I was freaking out worrying they were fake.

Well, I got them a few days ago and much to my surprise, they fit AND looked great on me (if I may say so myself!) AND they are authentic. There was only one problem.....graffiti on the bottom of the right shoe. I was heart broken because I actually liked the shoes.

I wrote back to the seller requesting a refund because no where on the auction page did it say anything about any writing and they made sure not to show the bottom of the right show on the pictures. He asked me take a picture and send it to him because he didn't remember any writing on the shoe and I did.

Then, for some reason, I decided to look at some photos of the Manolo Blahnik opening in Dubai and then it hit me......Could this possibly be a signed shoe??? So I looked up signed shoe pictures and guess what......IT IS! The seller obviously didn't even realize this or they would have said something.

So, I got a great bargain. New shoes, fit great, look great and are signed by the man himself. All this for just over Ł94 ($187). I don't think I'll be returning them after all

Wow! Signed by the Master? How awesome is that? Well done indeed!
I've kinda stopped using eBay because I had problems with PayPal--somebody tried to break into my account, then they suspended it, told me to reinstate it, but they actually required a hard line (phone) for me to call on, and I actually don't have one at home, I only use a cell phone. So I sort of grew weary of it all, but I might attempt to reinstate my PayPal membership just in case I stumble across deals like that.

OH MY GOD. Pictures. Pictures.
Are you ever going to wear them now, realizing how special they are?

I had a very bad, and then very good, experience with paypal. First they suspended my account because I was living abroad (in an area deemed "dangerous," and thereby my account was suspended just by virtue of my attempt to log on -- over security!). Then I forgot my password. I called them, and the service rep was extremely nice and I've been addicted since. I've sold many a shoe ebay.

Here's the picture I took to send to the seller. I hadn't thought about not wearing them but it's a tough choice now. I mean, they are my first pair of Manolo's and I definitely wanna show them off but I don't wanna ruin them either. Ah, the decisions a girl must make!

Oh my, that does, indeed, seem to be his signature. Aren't you lucky! I would wear them, though--they're gorgeous. I wonder if a cobbler would give you an option to insulate the outsole to preserve the signature--I don't know.
