Default Bet BF he couldn't wear heels for a weekend.

My BF has been giving me a hard time about walking slowly when we go out at night. I explained that I don't want to fall out of my platform pumps and twist or break an ankle. He belittled my argument, so I said I'll bet you couldn't walk any faster than I in these shoes. Instead of conceding the point like a gentleman he said "I'll be I could." My answer was "you are on buster." So here is the bet and where I need suggestions. I agreed to wear the same shoes he wears to insure that I couldn't win the bet by coming up with something silly. His size 9 foot will fit in a large size (10-111) woman's shoe.

Here is my plan. I am buying two tickets to Chicago for the weekend where we can stay with my sister. Web each take only two pairs of shoes: ballet flats with no arch support and heels. Every time he takes the heels off and the flats go on he looses a point unless I do the same. If he looses 3 points I win. We are going to walk go to musems and go dancing. He must start and end the weekend in heels. No deduct for going barefoot through airport security: I can't wait to see him toss his heels in the bin.

Here are the questions: what flat to choose and what heels. I have an Idea that the flats should be pink and very, very feminine so that his wearing them will be humiliating. The heels I am not sure about. Walkable, but the kind that remind you that you arre standing on the ball of your foot after you have been in them a while. Below are some suggestions. The heel would look cute peeking out from his jeans. If you have any suggestions post them. I welcome ideas on how to bring him to heel.

Oh my god, I love this!

You're fun and creative, your boyfriend is a game player, and I can't WAIT to see the outcomes of this.

I think the ballet flat options you've posted up there are pretty good if you're going for pink and girly. The heels... well, that all depends on what kind of heel you wear most often. To me, a heel like that is pretty unwalkable, but then again, I wear heels so rarely that my muscles just don't do it.

I'd look for heels that are similar to what you'd typically wear walking around. And maybe pick a style with a cloth upper or a soft leather that'll stretch easily around his feet, which are probably wider than women's shoe design is meant for.

And please please do report back when the outcome of the bet is decided.

What does the winner get? Or perhaps it's something you'd rather not say in a public forum.

You are probpaly right about my first pass at a heel. One of my friends told me the same thing. Get him in a shoe he thinks he cold wear then walk him into the ground. I am doing some more resarch and will put up my finds. Yes, I think its better not to get into a discussion of the prizes in public.

Here is a shoe that comes in wide and would appear to have plenty of toe room. The heel is only 3 1/4" but that ought to be enough to give him the feel of heels. By the end of the day those straps on top will have taken their toll. I think I will give him some moleskin and tell him he might want to take it along. I am thinking we ought to be wearing the same shoe to be fair. Red for me black patent for him?

Here is a flat that comes in W. I decided to get white so as to avoid an argument over the color.

Strappy, I think both of those shoes look like excellent options. The heel's not too high, but high enough. And the flat looks like a pretty comfy walker.

    Default I Lost

He won the hard way. Thanks to Zappos fast service the shoes arrived on Wednesday and we tried our respective weekend footgear on to see if they fit. Mine were a bit tight but his fit perfectly. He hated the ankle strap on the flats. He said it cut into his ankle so I punched an extra hole and told him not to complain because straps are sexy and that’s one reason we love them, By comparison the heels he announced were perfect and he liked being 3 ¼ inches taller. After a brief lesson in how to walk in high heels he suggested that we should go out to a movie so he could practice before getting on a plane.
After parking the car walking to the movie and sitting with his feet in heels for two hours I asked him how he was doing. He said great, but that he was ready to get out of his new shoes. As we were walking out of the theatre we crossed a deep pile rug in the lobby and down he went falling out of his right shoe and on to the floor. When he tried to stand up he grimaced and announced that he had broken his foot. To make along story short he was right a broken metatarsal called a “dancers fracture” The break was not too terrible so he was put in a blue knee high walking cast with a cute green rubber heel on it for six weeks. His toes are now over 2 inches off the ground, so I guess six weeks in a high heel open toe boot wins the bet. In addition to loosing the bet and paying up I am his chauffer for the next six weeks because he can’t drive. All I can say is that it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Oh no! I'm sorry he was legitimately injured. Though, I still think you can make your case that heels are dangerous, and that he can't walk in them. After he gets out of the cast, of course.

Thanks for keeping us posted on your experiment. I'm so sorry to hear that your BF was injured. He was such a great sport too. My fiancee wouldn't be caught in heels even if I paid him to wear them.

As for who won the bet, can't you say that you both won...and lost. Since the weekend trip didn't materialize the way you envisioned, the bet never commenced.

At least in the future he'll have greater understanding and appreciation whenever your in heels.

Kudos to you both though! I hope he'll have a full and speedy recovery.

This is so funny and well done for actually doing - most men are all talk and no action!
